When you do not follow certain orders, sections 296B and 296E of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 apply. These orders include a parenting education programme order under section 283(ja), a mentoring programme order under section 283(jb), and an alcohol or drug rehabilitation programme order under section 283(jc). You must also follow a supervision order under section 283(k), a community work order under section 298, a supervision with activity order under section 307, and an intensive supervision order under section 296G.

Section 296E also applies to a parenting education programme order under section 298(ja) that requires a parent or guardian to attend a parenting education programme. This means you, as a parent or guardian, must attend the programme as ordered. You have to follow the rules of the order, or sections 296B and 296E will apply to you.
