207ZE: Service of application

"Telling people about a court application"

Illustration for Oranga Tamariki Act 1989

When you make an application under section 207ZD, the court must give a copy of it to certain people. The court must give a copy to the interstate officer of the sending State and to each person who could have made the application, except the person who did make it. The court must do this as soon as possible after the application is filed.

The court can decide not to give a copy of the application to someone, like it says in section 155. If the court does give someone a copy, that person has the right to go to court and say what they think. You are allowed to appear and be heard if you get a copy of the application.
