Oranga Tamariki Act 1989

Care and protection of children and young persons - Family group conferences

35: Police to comply with decisions, recommendations, and plans of family group conference

You could also call this:

"Police must follow the plans made by a family group conference."

Illustration for Oranga Tamariki Act 1989

If a family group conference makes a decision, recommendation, or plan, and everyone agrees to it under section 30, the Police must do what the plan says. The Police must take the necessary actions and steps to make the plan work, unless they think it is impracticable, unreasonable, or clearly inconsistent with the principles set out in sections 4A(1), 5, and 13. You can expect the Police to follow the plan if it involves them, as long as it does not go against these principles.
