When you appeal a decision made by the Youth Court, you need to send a copy of the appeal to the principal manager of the area where the court is. The principal manager is in charge of the local department. You do this when the appeal is about certain types of orders made under section 283. The Registrar of the Youth Court will make sure the principal manager gets the copy.

If the High Court makes a decision on your appeal, the Registrar of the High Court will send the result to the principal manager. This is so the principal manager knows what happened with your appeal.

If you abandon your appeal under the Criminal Procedure Act 2011, the Registrar will send a notice to the principal manager to let them know.
