The court can delay a hearing for a case under Part 2 or Part 3A. When you think about delaying a hearing, the court considers how long the delay should be. The court wants to deal with cases as quickly as possible.

When the court delays a hearing, it can make orders about who looks after a child or young person. It can also make orders about who can visit or have contact with a child or young person. The court can do this under section 78 or section 121.
