Oranga Tamariki Act 1989

Youth justice - Disposal of proceedings in Youth Court

286: Person or organisation not to be required to supervise young person without consent

You could also call this:

"No one can be made to look after you without their okay."

If you are a young person, the court cannot make an order that puts you under the supervision of someone without their agreement. This means that the person or organisation must say yes to supervising you before the court can make that order, as stated in section 283 or section 296G. The court needs to get the person's or organisation's consent before making that decision.
