Illustration for Oranga Tamariki Act 1989

If you get an order from the Youth Court to pay a fine or compensation, it works like an order from the District Court. The Youth Court is in charge of making sure you follow the order. You will not go to prison if you do not pay.

The Youth Court makes decisions based on what is said in section 283. You do not have to pay costs or fees if the Youth Court enforces the order. The Youth Court looks after enforcing the order and making sure you follow it.
