If you are a young person who will live with a caregiver, the chief executive must help you negotiate the terms of your living arrangement. You will agree on the terms and they must be written down in a support arrangement. The support arrangement must follow certain principles and standards, and the chief executive must approve it.

The chief executive must make sure the support arrangement is consistent with the purposes outlined in section 386AAB and gives effect to the principles in section 386AAC. The chief executive will check that your support arrangement meets certain standards. These standards are set out in regulations made under section 447(1)(cb).

The chief executive is responsible for monitoring your support arrangement to ensure it meets the required standards. They will check how well the arrangement is working for you. This monitoring is an important part of making sure you receive the support you need.
