The Representation Commission helps decide how electoral districts are classified for pay or allowances. If the Remuneration Authority tells the Representation Commission it needs to classify the districts, the Commission will do this using categories given by the Remuneration Authority. This is for the purposes of determining salaries or allowances under the Remuneration Authority Act 1977, which you can find at https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1986/0120/latest/link.aspx?id=DLM15636.
