You can apply to the Electoral Commission to register a logo for a political party if the party is already registered under subpart 1 or if the party has applied to register under subpart 1 and the application has not been decided yet. You can make this application if you are the secretary of the party or a member of Parliament who is a current financial member of the party. The application must be in writing, signed by you, and include some specific things.

You need to give the Electoral Commission two identical copies of the party logo, showing the colours and the Pantone Matching System colours to be used, as well as a black and white version. You also need to make a declaration, as set out in section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957, that using the logo will not infringe on someone's intellectual property rights or break any laws. Your application should include your name and address, and the name and address of the party's secretary if you are not the secretary.

When the Electoral Commission gets your application, they will consider it and decide whether to register the party logo. But if you withdraw your application in writing before they make a decision, and the Electoral Commission is satisfied that you have the authority to do so, they do not have to consider it anymore.
