Illustration for Electoral Act 1993

If someone objects to your name being on the electoral roll, you have 14 days to respond. You can provide evidence to the Electoral Commission that shows you are qualified to be on the roll. The person who objects to your name being on the roll might not be you, it could be the person who looks after you under the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988, or the person you appointed to make decisions for you. If the Electoral Commission is satisfied with the evidence you provide, your name will stay on the roll and they will let everyone involved know.
