When you apply to register a political party logo under section 71C, the Electoral Commission might decide to register it. If they do, they must register the logo in the Register of Political Parties, which was established under section 62(2). They also have to tell you in writing that the logo is registered and publish the registration in the Gazette.

The Electoral Commission has a few tasks to complete when registering a party logo. They need to make sure the logo is added to the register. They also have to inform the person who applied to register the logo.

The registration of the logo is then made public in the Gazette, which is an official publication.
