You are a prisoner who wants to register as an elector. You need to give the prison manager some information. This includes your details and whether you want to be in a Māori or General electoral district if you are Māori. The prison manager must collect this information and send it to the Electoral Commission after you are released. You can also ask for help to apply to keep your name private. The prison manager will send this application with your registration information. The prison manager can only use your information to send it to the Electoral Commission. They must do this as soon as they can after you are released from prison.
