You cannot take action on an application to register a party logo during certain times. This period starts when a writ is issued for a general election or by-election and ends when the results are final. You can find more information about applying to register a party logo under section 71C.

When there is a general election, the period starts when the writ is issued for all electoral districts in New Zealand. It ends on the day the results of the election are final. This is the day when the writ with the names of the elected candidates is returned.

For a by-election, the period starts when the writ is issued and ends when the results of the by-election are final. This is the day when the writ with the result of the by-election is returned.
