If your name is removed from the electoral roll, the Electoral Commission must send you a notice in writing. This notice tells you that your name is no longer on the roll. The Electoral Commission must send you this notice within 14 days of removing your name. You can find more information about when names are removed from the roll in section 98(1) of the Electoral Act 1993. If your name is added to a different roll, the Electoral Commission must also send you a notice in writing.

If your name is removed or added to a roll during a certain time, like when an election is happening, the Electoral Commission must send you the notice right away. The Electoral Commission can deliver the notice to you in person or send it to you by post. They must do this within a certain time frame, depending on what is happening with your name on the roll.
