When you act on behalf of someone else, you must provide a statement. This statement must say what role you are acting in and confirm you are allowed to act for that person. You are acting for them when you make an application or give notification.

You must provide this statement in a certain way. You can write it down by filling out and signing a form that the Electoral Commission has approved. Alternatively, you can provide the information in an approved electronic medium, which means using a computer or other device to give the necessary information.

The Electoral Commission has rules about how you can provide this statement, and you must follow these rules. You can find more information about the rules by looking at the Electoral Amendment Act 2014. This will help you understand what you need to do when acting on behalf of someone else.
