If you are the secretary of a registered political party, you must send a declaration to the Electoral Commission by 30 April each year. You must make this declaration in the manner provided by section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957. This declaration must state how your party plans to take part in general elections, such as by submitting a list of candidates under section 127 or having candidates stand for your party.

You must also state in the declaration whether your party has at least 500 current financial members who can enrol as electors. The Electoral Commission needs this information from you every year. You are responsible for making sure the declaration is sent to the Electoral Commission on time.
