Accident Compensation Act 2001

Preliminary provisions

8: Cover

You could also call this:

"This explains when you are protected if you get hurt"

When the law says you have cover, it means you're protected for a personal injury. This can happen in two ways:

If you got hurt on or after April 1, 2002, you might have cover under sections 20, 21, or 22 of the law.

If you got hurt before April 1, 2002, you might have cover under Part 10 or Part 11 of the law.

When the law talks about an injury being covered, it means it's a personal injury that you have protection for under this law.
