Accident Compensation Act 2001

Management of injury-related information

287: Purpose of this Part

You could also call this:

“This part explains how injury information is collected and used to help prevent accidents”

This part of the law is about managing information related to injuries. Its purpose is to help the government achieve its goals for managing and preventing injuries. It does this by collecting information that can be used in several ways.

The information is used to create a set of statistics and indicators, as well as a research database about injuries. This helps people understand the big picture of injuries in New Zealand.

The collected information can be analysed to help both the government and private companies make better policies about injury management and prevention.

The law also aims to share this information with many different groups, including government agencies and private companies. This helps everyone work together to manage and prevent injuries.

Finally, this information helps check how well government agencies are doing in meeting the government’s goals for managing and preventing injuries.
