43: Public consultation on draft Code after agreement by Minister

You could also call this:

“The government asks for people's ideas about new rules for accidents”

After the Minister agrees with the draft Code, the Corporation needs to tell everyone about it. They do this by putting a notice in the Gazette, which is a special government newspaper. They also put notices in the daily newspapers in big cities like Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

When they tell people about the draft Code, they need to say a few important things. They need to say that anyone can write to them with their thoughts about the Code. They also need to tell people where they can get copies of the draft Code to read. They have to say when the last day is for people to send in their thoughts, and where to send them.

After people send in their ideas, the Corporation has a job to do. They need to write a report about all the thoughts people sent in. They might suggest some changes to the Code based on what people said. When they finish this report, they send it to the Minister to look at.
