Accident Compensation Act 2001

Transitional provisions relating to entitlements provided by Corporation (but not under Part 10) - Entitlements arising from fatal injuries

381: Funeral expenses for death before 1 April 2002

You could also call this:

"Money to help pay for funerals of people who died before April 2002"

If someone died before 1 April 2002 because of a personal injury that was covered by earlier laws, their family might be able to get money to help pay for the funeral. This money is called a funeral grant. The family can ask for this money on or after 1 April 2002, but only if they haven't already received money for the funeral before that date. The rules for this funeral grant are explained in clause 64 of Schedule 1 of the law.
