71: Employer's obligations in relation to rehabilitation

You could also call this:

"Employers must help injured workers return to work"

If you get hurt and can't work, sometimes the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) decides that you can go back to your old job with the same employer. If this happens, ACC will tell your employer in writing.

When your employer gets this notice, they have to do everything they can to help you get back to work. This means they need to support you with your rehabilitation plan. Your rehabilitation plan is a set of steps to help you recover and return to work.

Your employer should do their best to make it easier for you to come back to work. This might include things like changing your work area or giving you different tasks while you're getting better.
