Accident Compensation Act 2001

Entitlements and related matters - General provisions

124: Entitlements to be provided to claimant only

You could also call this:

"You get help only if you made the claim, with some exceptions"

The law says that you can only get help from the Corporation if you're the person who made the claim. This means the Corporation will give the help directly to you and not to anyone else.

However, there are some exceptions to this rule. The Corporation can pay someone else if they are providing help to you. They can also make payments to other people if the rules say it's okay. Lastly, the Corporation can make payments to others in certain situations described in sections 125 and 126 of the law.
