Accident Compensation Act 2001

Code of ACC Claimants' Rights, and claims - Claims process

48: Person to lodge claim for cover and entitlement

You could also call this:

"You need to tell ACC about your injury to get help"

If you want to get help under this law, you need to tell the Corporation about your personal injury. You can do this in a few ways:

You can ask them to cover your personal injury.

You can ask them to cover your personal injury and also give you a specific benefit for it.

If the Corporation has already said they'll cover your personal injury, you can ask them for a specific benefit related to that injury.

Remember, you have to tell the Corporation about your injury yourself. This is called 'lodging a claim'.
