336: Amendment of Schedule 2 by Order in Council

You could also call this:

"The Government can update the list of work-related injuries and their causes"

The Governor-General can change Schedule 2 by making an Order in Council if the Minister recommends it. You can add or change descriptions of personal injuries in the schedule. This includes adding or changing the things that cause these injuries, like chemicals or radiation, and how much exposure to them is harmful. You can also add or change the jobs or industries related to these injuries. The schedule can be updated to match what international organisations say or do.

Before the Minister can recommend changes, they need to talk to people or groups they think should have a say. They decide who to talk to based on what the changes are about.

When an order is made to change Schedule 2, it's called secondary legislation. This means it has to follow certain rules about how it's published and made official.
