110: Notice to claimant in relation to assessment of vocational independence

You could also call this:

"ACC must tell you in a letter when they want to check if you can work again"

When the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) wants you to have your vocational independence assessed, they must tell you about it in writing. This means they will send you a letter explaining what's going to happen.

The letter will tell you why they're doing the assessment, what it involves, and what it means for you. It will also say that you have to take part in the assessment and what will happen if you don't. The letter will also let you know that you can bring someone with you during the assessment if you want to.

ACC can't make you do this assessment unless they think you're likely to achieve vocational independence. They also can't make you do it until you've finished any job-related rehabilitation that was in your personal rehabilitation plan.

Vocational independence means being able to work again, maybe in a different job than before. The assessment helps ACC figure out if you're ready for that.
