“The types of help you can get if you're hurt in an accident”

This law explains the different types of help you can get if you’re hurt in an accident. You can receive rehabilitation, which includes treatment to help you get better, support to help you in your daily life, and help to get back to work. If you can’t work right away because of your injury, you might get money for the first week you’re off work. You could also get weekly payments if you need to be off work for longer.

If your injury causes a lasting problem, you might get a one-time payment. If someone dies because of an accident, their family can get help too. This includes money for the funeral, a grant for the family, weekly payments for the person’s partner, children, or others who depended on them, and help with childcare costs.

There are also other types of help mentioned in Parts 10 and 11 of this law. You can find out more about these by looking at those sections.
