Accident Compensation Act 2001

Accident Compensation Corporation - Disclosure of information

282: Disclosure of information by Corporation for health purposes

You could also call this:

"ACC can share health information to help plan and check healthcare services"

This law allows the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to share information with the Ministry of Health and Health New Zealand. They can share this information to help figure out how much money is needed for public health services and to check on the treatment that health professionals are providing.

The Ministry of Health and Health New Zealand can ask ACC for information about people who have received, are receiving, or have applied for treatment they are entitled to. They can ask for basic details like names and addresses, and information about what treatment the people are entitled to.

When ACC shares this information, it must not change any entitlements that people have. The information can only be given to specific people who are allowed to receive it.

The way ACC shares this information will be agreed upon between ACC and the Ministry of Health or Health New Zealand. This helps make sure the information is shared properly and safely.
