Accident Compensation Act 2001

Miscellaneous provisions - Offences and penalties generally

310: Offence not to provide earnings information to Corporation

You could also call this:

“Not telling ACC when you start earning more money is against the law”

If you are getting first week compensation or weekly compensation, you need to tell the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) as soon as you can if you start earning more money. This is important because earning more might mean you should get less compensation.

You have to let ACC know about your increased earnings straight away. If you don’t, you’re breaking the law. This is called an offence.

If you’re found guilty of not telling ACC about your increased earnings, you might have to pay a fine. The most you could be fined is $5,000.
