91: Conduct of initial occupational assessment

You could also call this:

"How the job expert checks what work you can do after getting hurt"

When an occupational assessor does an initial assessment for you, they need to do a few things. They should look at information from both you and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). The assessor will talk to you about all the different types of work available in New Zealand that might suit you. They'll listen to what you have to say about these jobs too.

When the assessor thinks about what jobs might be good for you, they have to consider how much money you were earning before you got hurt or sick. This is important to make sure the jobs they suggest are fair for you.

The ACC must give the occupational assessor all the important information they have about you for this assessment. This helps the assessor understand your situation better.

Remember, the occupational assessor is there to help figure out what kind of work you might be able to do after your injury or illness. They want to make sure they consider everything that's important to you and your situation.
