6: Public notice

Illustration for Telecommunications Act 2001

When the Commission has to give public notice of something under this Act, they must do two things. They must put a notice in the Gazette. They must also make sure you can see the full details on the Commission's Internet site at any reasonable time. If the Commission is putting a notice in the Gazette, it must include the full details or a summary and a link to where you can see the full details on the Internet. The date that matters is when the notice is published in the Gazette, this is the date that is used if the Act talks about when public notice is given. The Commission does not have to include some information in a public notice if they think it would unfairly affect someone's business.
