Illustration for Telecommunications Act 2001

When you are using an area to install or fix something related to telecommunications, you might need to restrict or block other people from using that area. You can only do this for a certain period of time, which is either prescribed or the time it reasonably takes to complete the work. This work can include reinstating property under section 155ZB, performing certain acts or operations under section 155ZD(1)(a), extending an installation under section 155ZD(1)(b)(i), or permanently reinstating an area under section 155ZD(1)(b)(ii). You need to make sure you are following the rules when restricting or blocking access to an area. The rules are in place to help you complete the work safely and efficiently.
