"When the Commission must decide rules for fibre service providers before they start."

Illustration for Telecommunications Act 2001

The Commission has to make some decisions after the input methodologies are determined under section 178 but before the implementation date. You will want to know that these decisions are about how price-quality regulation and information disclosure regulation apply to fibre service providers. The Commission makes these decisions under section 170 and they cover things like how much fibre service providers can charge and what information they have to share.

The Commission's decisions about price-quality regulation apply to the first regulatory period. You need to understand that the decisions about information disclosure regulation apply from the start of the first regulatory period.

The Commission's decision about information disclosure regulation can last for more than one regulatory period and stays in force until it is revoked, which means it is cancelled or replaced, and this decision is made under section 170.
