You need to know what happens on separation day. The Minister approves some undertakings under sections 42 to 44 of the Telecommunications Act. These undertakings are like a deed that Chorus must follow. You should understand that these undertakings take effect from separation day. They are like a promise that Chorus makes to the Crown. The Minister can also approve more undertakings after separation day. These new undertakings take effect from the date they are approved. They still follow the same rules as the ones approved before separation day. This means Chorus must follow them like a deed.
