69XL: Protection of existing members of Government Superannuation Fund

You are protected if you were employed by Telecom before a certain day. The Government Superannuation Fund Act 1956 still applies to you. You are considered to be in Government service even if you work for Chorus. 69XLProtection of existing members of Government Superannuation Fund

  1. The Government Superannuation Fund Act 1956 continues to apply to the persons referred to in subsection (2) in all respects as if service with Chorus were Government service.

  2. The persons are every person who, immediately before separation day,—

  3. is employed by Telecom; and
    1. is deemed to be employed in the Government service under section 2A of the Government Superannuation Fund Act 1956; and
      1. is a contributor to the Government Superannuation Fund under Part 2 or 2A of that Act.
        1. For the purpose of applying the Government Superannuation Fund Act 1956, the chief executive of Chorus is the controlling authority.
