The Minister has objectives under this Act. You can think of these objectives like goals. The Minister's goals are to do their job in a way that helps create a transport system that is integrated, safe, responsive, and sustainable. The Minister also aims to make sure New Zealand follows the rules it agreed to under certain conventions, which are like agreements between countries, by implementing the country's obligations under these conventions.
