The Director is in charge of keeping the marine environment safe. You can think of the Director like a guardian of the ocean. The Director has extra powers to help with this job, especially when investigating something that is harming the marine environment, like an oil spill. The Director can stop people from going to the place where the harm is happening, so they can collect evidence and figure out what happened. The Director can also collect oil samples and take things that might help them understand what caused the problem.
