Illustration for Maritime Transport Act 1994

If you are an agent for a ship, you might have to pay maritime levies. You can take the cost of these levies out of the money you get for the ship. You can also take out any extra costs you had to pay because of the levies. You can do this if you are liable for the levies under the Maritime Transport Act 1994 regulations. This means you can keep the money for the levies and your expenses when you get paid for the ship.
