The Governor-General can make rules about navigation bylaws. You can break these rules and get a fine of up to $1,000. The rules also say what the fine notice should look like. If you break a navigation bylaw, you might have to go to court or get a fine notice. You can be taken to court under the Summary Proceedings Act 1957 or you can get a fine notice. These rules are part of a bigger set of laws, and you can learn more about how they are published by looking at Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
