Maritime Transport Act 1994

Salvage

218: Salvage claims by the Crown

You could also call this:

"When the government's ship helps save another ship, the government can claim a reward."

If you are on a New Zealand warship or another ship owned by the New Zealand government, and it helps with salvage operations, the Crown can claim salvage. The Crown has the same rights as anyone else who helps with salvage. You should know that the Crown's rights are the same as any other salvor when it comes to claiming salvage for those operations.
