You need to apply to the Director for a marine protection document. You must use the prescribed form or the form the Director requires. The Director keeps a record of your application at the Maritime Registry. You must include your address and contact details in your application. This includes your phone and fax numbers if you have them. You must tell the Director if any of these details change. If the Director sends you a notice, it will be sent to the address you last gave. This is how the Director will contact you about your marine protection document. You can find more information about the Maritime Transport Act 1994 on the legislation.govt.nz website.
