284: Purpose and contents of response strategy

"What to do in case of an oil spill in New Zealand's waters"

The New Zealand marine oil spill response strategy is made to help you understand what to do in case of an oil spill in New Zealand's marine waters. You will learn who takes action and what action they take when there is an oil spill. The strategy also helps make sure everyone responds to oil spills in the same way. You will see that the strategy promotes working together on plans to deal with oil spills. The Director decides what to include in the strategy to make it work well, and also includes anything the marine protection rules say must be in the strategy.
