Maritime Transport Act 1994

Financing plans and responses to protect the marine environment from marine oil spills - Oil pollution levies

337: Payment of levies

You could also call this:

"Paying oil pollution levies to help keep our oceans clean"

When you have to pay an oil pollution levy, you pay it to the Authority. You pay the levy to the Authority if it is assessed every year. If it is not assessed every year, you pay the levy to the Authority or to someone the Authority says is okay to pay it to.

The people who get the levies have to put the money into the New Zealand Oil Pollution Fund. You can find more information about this by looking at the 1974 No 14 and the 1977 No 130 laws. The levies go into the fund to help with oil pollution.
