Illustration for Social Security Act 2018

Before the Ministry of Social Development gives you a notice about not meeting your obligations for your dependent children, they must talk to you at least three times about it. They can talk to you in any way they like. This is because you have obligations under sections 131 to 135 of the law. The Ministry of Social Development needs to be sure they have already had these conversations with you before they can give you this notice. You can read more about these obligations in sections 131 to 135.
