Social Security Act 2018

Obligations - Beneficiaries’ obligations - Specific obligations: social obligations in relation to dependent children

134: Health care enrolment and compliance with core health checks

You could also call this:

“Making sure your kids are signed up with a doctor and get their health checks”

You need to make sure that each child who depends on you is signed up with a main health care provider. This could be a primary health organisation or a doctor who gives basic health care.

For any child under 5 years old who depends on you, you need to make sure they get all their important health checks. These checks used to be part of a program called Well Child. If there’s a new program that has replaced Well Child, you need to make sure your child gets the checks from that program instead.

You should do everything you reasonably can to make these things happen for your children.
