Social Security Act 2018

Obligations - Beneficiaries’ obligations - Specific obligations: work-test obligations

145: Meaning of suitable employment

You could also call this:

“What MSD thinks is a good job for you”

In this law, ‘suitable employment’ means a job that the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) thinks is right for you. When MSD decides if a job is suitable, they look at how many hours you need to work each week to meet your work test requirements. The MSD will tell you how many hours you need to work. This helps them figure out what kind of job would be good for you.
