57: When person is study ready

You could also call this:

“When you're ready or available for full-time study or training”

You are considered study ready if you are doing or are available to do full-time education or training that leads to NCEA level 2 or a qualification that is similar or higher. The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) decides what counts as an equivalent qualification.

You can also be study ready if you would be available for full-time education or training, but you can’t do it right now because of special circumstances. These circumstances might be reasons why you don’t have to do education or training for a while, as explained in section 163 of this law. Or they might be reasons that would let you be excused from having to do education or training, as explained in section 157 of this law.
