252A: MSD must give notice of non-financial sanction

You could also call this:

"MSD must tell you in writing if they impose a non-financial sanction on you"

If a non-financial sanction is imposed on you, the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) must give you a written notice. This notice is called a section 252A notice. The notice must tell you what the sanction is, what you must do while it is in place, and when it starts and ends. The notice must also tell you how long the sanction will last, and how you can comply with an obligation if not complying with it resulted in the sanction being imposed. You can find more information about the duration of the sanction in sections 236A(6) and 236B(5), and about how to comply with an obligation in section 261, 261A, or 261B.
