185: MSD must explain requirements

You could also call this:

“MSD must tell you about important rules and what happens if you don't follow them”

The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) needs to tell you about certain rules you have to follow. These rules are set out in regulations linked to section 432 of the Social Security Act 2018. MSD must make sure you understand:

What you need to do to follow these rules.

What might happen if you don’t follow the rules.

When a rule is going to be cancelled or has already been cancelled, and when this cancellation starts or started.

MSD has to take sensible and proper steps to make sure you know about these things.
