Social Security Act 2018

Administration - Review of entitlement to, or rate of, benefit granted

305: Information for review

You could also call this:

“MSD might ask for information when checking your benefit, and you must provide it”

When MSD (the Ministry of Social Development) is reviewing your benefit, they might ask you or your partner for information. You need to give this information in the way they ask for it and by the time they say it’s due.

If you or your partner don’t give MSD the information they ask for, they can stop your benefit, cancel it, or change how much you get. They can do this from a date they choose.

MSD can also use other parts of the law to get information or make decisions about your benefit. These parts are called sections 42, 113, 290, 300, and clause 2 of Schedule 6.
